Nutrition Impact Investment Advisor
ATNi (Access to Nutrition initiative) is a global nonprofit actively challenging the food industry, investors and policymakers to shape healthier food systems. We analyse and translate data into actionable insights, driving partnerships and innovations for market transformation so that all people have access to nutritious and sustainable food. ATNi is registered in the Netherlands with approximately 25 staff and dozens of consultants around the world.
ATNi stimulates dialogue and action to transform markets in various ways including by producing high-quality research and corporate accountability tools. ATNi publishes global and country specific indexes, research projects on a range of nutrition topics and monitoring and accountability tools for third parties. For more information on ATNi, please visit our website https://www.accesstonutrition.org.
The donor and investment community has the potential to drive systemic change towards healthier food environments by ensuring their resources are used to for impact investing in nutrition.
ATNi’s working definition for impact investing in nutritious foods is the intentional directing of capital towards enterprises so they can prioritise the production, processing, and distribution of food products that are safe, affordable, and rich in essential nutrients.
ATNi’s impact investment strategy focuses on unlocking the supply of finance for impact investments in nutrition. We do this by: 1) helping donors and investors (impact investors and institutional investors) to understand the definition, principles and metrics available to unlock impact investments for nutrition; 2) providing technical assistance support related to nutrition to fund holders (e.g. iGravity); and 3) helping to bridge the information asymmetry which exists between investors and investees (e.g. food businesses) by leveraging tools (e.g. Nutrition Finance Business Monitoring tool).
