About ATNi
ATNi (Access to Nutrition initiative) is a global foundation actively challenging the food industry, investors and policymakers to shape healthier food systems. We analyse and translate data into actionable insights, driving partnerships and innovations for market transformation so that all people have access to nutritious and sustainable food. We convene debates with key stakeholders, including responsible investors, policymakers, and consumer groups that will shape healthy diets in the future.

About the role
This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the execution of ATNi’s communications strategy, including supporting website development and maintenance, enhancing ATNi’s visibility and engagement with key stakeholders, and ensuring that our communications activities are delivered effectively by:
Boosting visibility and strengthening ATNi's reputation among our key stakeholders (e.g. companies, investors, civil society leaders, policy makers);
Ensuring the website, global tracking tools, projects, and data are easy-to-navigate and accessible;
Supporting contact management and segmentation in Creatio by ensuring accurate information for key stakeholders;
Positioning ATNi as a thought leader around topics of private sector accountability in the food and beverage sector and nutrition as a material issue for investors and regulation to support healthier food environments.
The Communications Intern will report to Veronica Maxey (Communications and Policy Officer).
In this role, you can positively impact global health by helping to fundamentally shape markets for nutritious foods. This position will focus on ensuring the website is updated and optimized (including for generative AI searches), as well as supporting internal communications, giving you the opportunity to learn more about all of ATNi’s projects and gain hands-on experience working for an international NGO.
Responsibilities
Website
Support effective communication with key stakeholders on our website, including ensuring user-friendly flow and content that is SEO/AEO/GEO-optimized;
Ensure website content meets brand and style guidelines;
Support with Google Ads and website analytics;
Support content generation and migration on the website.
Contact Management
Maintain and enrich our contact database in Creatio;
Support email campaigns and invites for events and quarterly newsletters.
Internal Communications
Assist in updating and creating new content for internal communications activities (e.g. internal newsletter, Sharepoint communications, surveys);
Work closely with the Communications and Operations teams.
Content Creation
Design visual media for use on our website and LinkedIn accounts, including graphics, videos, and other multimedia, using tools such as Illustrator and Adobe express;
Support the publication of our research including formatting and editing content;
Ensure consistency with ATNi’s tone of voice and brand;
Ad hoc support with our corporate LinkedIn and Vimeo accounts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with Research, Partnerships, Policy, and Operations teams to align communication efforts with ATNi’s impact goals;
Share feedback and insights to ensure communication strategies are integrated across various workstreams.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, health, nutrition, food systems, public health or another field related to ATNi’s work. Some background information in nutrition and public health is preferred but not required.
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's program (or equivalent).
Demonstrated interest and commitment to improving access to nutritious food globally.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proactive and able to work independently, with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Some experience with AEO/ GEO, Google Ads, Analytics, and CMS platforms such as Wordpress is desirable.
Currently living in the Netherlands with a valid work permit.

What we offer:
We have a flexible approach, but expect everyone to be present in the office in Utrecht two days a week.
A laptop for carrying out your work.
A monthly stipend of Euro 775/ month based on 40 hours a week.
Paid commuting costs using public transport (NS business card).
